However, these lines do not remain only as words, they are turned into reality. Our product catalogue is the evidence of it.

The co-operative society Kovotvar Kúty was established on 1 October 1953 under the name Topľa. It was founded by the craftsmen – wheelwrights, carpenters and blacksmiths. In 1964, the present name Kovotvar Kúty was accepted and the co-operative had its plants in Kúty, Jablonica, Šaštín and Holíč. So Kovotvar became one of the most important companies in this region.

Galvanized Metalware Production Commencement

The period of the years 1965-67 was decisive for the overall development and further orientation of our co-operative due to the galvanized metalware production commencement. These products are still the basis of our present production programme. This production opened up a world of development opportunities concerning business activities oriented towards the iron processing with this type of surface finish.

In 1989 radical political, economic and social changes in the former Czechoslovakia influenced also Kovotvar and its business activity. Our foreign trade activities have been focused not only on the European Union countries but later also on North America or Japan. In order to increase our competitiveness we enlarged our production range by new types of watering cans, buckets, flowerpots, vases, decorative wire products and so on. We also started the production of hot galvanized sewage catch pits and anchor pins for various fences.

Present

Kovotvar presently has oriented exclusively to the production of metal goods for garden, household and decoration, the surface finish of which is carried out by hot galvanizing or powder coating. According to the cooperative regulations, the bodies of Kovotvar are as follows – the Member's Assembly, the board of directories, the Control Committee and the "Members and Employees Welfare Board". The number of our employees is circa 250 people. In spite of the fact that the cooperative society had to overcome a lot of difi fi culties and hard situations during its existence, Kovotvar proved its viability and competitiveness. Our co-operative participated in the development of these towns: Kúty, Holíč, Jablonica, Šaštín and Skalica, and still plays an important role in the economy of the region.

Shortly from history:

1st Oct 1953 – new producer co-operative was founded by the craftsmen – wheelwrights, carpenters and blacksmiths. This enterprise concentrated on the wood processing industry.
In 1955, new production lines were included in the production range – cement blocks and concrete products (troughs, vats, fountains, etc). The co-operative was renamed Tvárnica v.d. Kúty.
In 1963, another two co-operatives VLD Holíč and VLD Šaštín merged with Kúty and the present name Kovotvar Kúty was accepted in 1964.
In the following years, the co-operative Kovotvar Kúty and its production range were significantly enlarged. Particularly, the commencement of the galvanized metal goods production was very important in terms of current co-operative's operations.
Since 1972, the co-operative has been offering the car-repair services and we are an authorized seller of the SKODA cars till year 2008.
After the year 1989, Kovotvar noticeably expanded its range of the galvanized and powder coated metal goods for garden as well as its cooperation with the foreign partners in the field of metal processing and hot dip galvanizing. This trend was strengthen especially by our new ceramic galvanizing furnace which was put into operation in 1991.
In year 2009 every operation cooperative was consolidated at one factory in Kúty.
