Zinc galvanizing

It represents modern way of corrosion-preventive of the iron and the steel which we offer for you in abmit of services of custom-made hot dip galvanizing of your steel and iron elements.

High lifespan and low costs make zinc galvanizing the most economical way of protection steel before the corrosion. Zinc galvanizing lowers consuption of energy and makes better the environment.

Technical readings:

  • zinc galvanizing of products to weight up to: 3,2 t
  • dimension of ceramic furnace: length 7 m x width 1,2 m x height 1,2 m

As a specialized service, the Cooperation offers hot galvanizing in the framework of the anticorroding protection of the iron and steel through two methods:

a) The dry method – the product is plunged into the fluxing agent and dried off at 130 degrees of Celsius and is finally plunged into zinc

b) The wet method – the product is plunged through smelting liquid straight into zinc.

  • Thanks to the ceramic furnace of the size 7 x 1.2 x 1.2 meters we can regulate the temperature of zinc plunge in the scale of 30 degrees of Celsius from which depends the thickness of zinc coating. The whole process meets the criteria of EN ISO 1461 /STN 03 8558/.

The adjustments of products before zinc galvanizing:
Products for zinc galvanizing must be designed and manufactured such to be suitable to zinc galvanizing.
Before zinc galvanizing it has to be eliminated every inner tension made for example by rolling of plates, bending, eventually welding, in effect it is prevented its successive deformation by process of zinc galvanizing. As well complicated components are deformated during the heating up 450 degrees of Celsius as results of latent tension which starts during the welding process of various profiles, materials various thickness etc. It is important to think about the expansivity of steel which is 6mm/m by the temperature 450 degrees of Celsius. The hollow spaces require the sufficient flashed off and escaped holes which are necessary to discuss with zinc-place. It is also important to avoid of the gaps and pores in welds. Escaping of residues of fluxing agent and mordants from this holes after the process of galvanizing can couse undesirable marks on the zinc surface.

The welding of constructions should be realized in the safety atmosphere other it is necessary to grind or stream the products after the welding process. For streaming is necessary to use steel slugs, not silicon materials.

All unevennesses of surface of main material so as stitches and deep corrosion stay visible after the zinc process. The roughness of surface affects the thickness and the look of zinc layer. Zing galvanizing of closed hollow antities is inadmissible because there is the possibility of explosion. Moreover the pipes and clarities which are under 10 mm and the length is more then 1500 mm have the tendency to behave like the hollow entities and it isn´t possible to zinc them good by usual style. The zinc process of pipes which clarity is less than 1 inch is necessary to consult with Kovotvar´s technologist.

All materials dedicated for zinc process must be equipped by holes for suspension according to the requirements of the production department.
Assembly holes under 8 mm are going to be watery after the zinc process and it is necessary to clean them up again.

In the higher holes is necessary to use the allowance regarding to the thickness of material. The internal and external threads are necessary to clean up again or protect them before zinc (according to agreement with the technologist).
